A little bit about me!
My name is Sarah Spencer and I run Love Yoga Eastbourne.
I fell in love with yoga over five years ago when my life was at a hugely transitional point. I was faced with some pretty serious life questions and I found that my yoga practice provided me with a safe place of solace and much needed calm in my mind, whilst feeling better in my physical body. I started attending a variety of yoga classes within my home town of Eastbourne and found myself becoming increasingly interested in deepening my own personal practice. Then, one day after a wonderful Sound Bath, I found myself asking the teacher if I could join her next teacher training enrolment. Before I knew it I was knee deep in self-study and learning more about myself that I had realised necessary. I successfully qualified as a 200 hour Yoga teacher in December 2016 after studying at The Yoga Life Studio, Eastbourne.
Being part of the course changed my life in so many ways. Aside from being given the opportunity to really learn about myself and learn how to have a healthy relationship with myself and others, I met a truly beautiful man and we have been together for over two years. I had only ever heard about men like him existing in the world, I never thought that I would end up with one!
I needed to find some direction and renewed enthusiasm for my teaching and therefore opted to focus my attention on building a private client base. Having always loved teaching private one to ones I was then able to dedicate more time to focus on providing bespoke teaching for individual clients. Not only do I feel that I have been able to really hone my teaching skills as a result but I have also seen some amazing changes in many of my clients. As a result, they have found a greater sense of overall improved physical mobility and better mental wellbeing. Being able to work with one person at a time is such a personal and unique relationship that allows time and opportunity to focus on the smaller details that the client may need. I am very grateful that people put their trust in me to help them.
More recently, I completed another 200 hour yoga training with the pioneering yoga teacher and physical therapist Lara Heimann. Signing up for the course was without a doubt the very best decision I have made and it wasn’t until I started this incredible course with Lara that I realised exactly what I had been missing in my teaching.
I want to help others to the best of my teaching ability and this course gave me the confidence, insight and practical knowledge of how to do exactly that. I want to teach smarter and more intelligent yoga with authenticity.
I am a massive animal lover , I have one Bengal cat, a 14 year old staffy, two rescue rabbits and we are currently waiting for some rescue hens to arrive to (hopefully) provide us with some delicious eggs to eat. I can still taste my very first freshly laid chicken egg from when I was an 8 year old.
Alongside my yoga I also offer a range of massage services having trained at the awesome Jing Massage Training School in Brighton. I also run a successful dog walking business and have been happily self employed for over 17 years. I am an avid foodie too, and being a natural host I love nothing more than creating delicious food in the kitchen, cooking for friends and catering for social events such as birthday parties and supper clubs . I have worked alongside one of my fellow yoga teachers Annie catering for her incredibly popular sell out yoga brunches.
I am excited to see where the next phase of my teaching will take me and being able to make positive changes for others.
Thank you for taking the time to read this to learn a little bit about me.
